We used a MyTouch 3G Slide Smart phone that runs the Android 2.1 OS. The Android OS came with an included VPN Client. We downloaded a free SSH client from ConnectBot, (for more information see: http://code.google.com/p/connectbot/).

The Android OS is a Linux/Unix derivative as are a number of other Smartphone OS’ like Apple’s iOS, and the new generation Smartphones due soon from Motorola, Samsung, Panasonic, Palm and NEC. We anticipate most Smartphones with available VPN and SSH Client software can be made to work.
